Rosen Hagood Attorney Appointed to Senior Leadership Position with ABA Young Lawyers Division
Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that Elizabeth “Beth” Palmer has been appointed as Director of Public Service for the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD).
As the Director of Public Service, Palmer is responsible for overseeing the Division’s public service efforts. Additionally, she will serve as a member of the senior leadership team, the ABA YLD Cabinet, and as a voting member of both the ABA YLD Council and the ABA YLD Assembly.
This year’s public service project is Project Street Youth: Young Lawyers Advocating for Homeless Youth. The project will have three main components: education and awareness; policy advocacy; and legal clinics. The primary goal of Project Street Youth is to give young lawyers across the nation the tools they need to organize legal clinics and help remove the barriers that are preventing homeless and transitional youth from seeking gainful employment, securing housing, and receiving education and training.
Also active in the South Carolina Bar YLD, Palmer will serve as a co-chair of a new committee that will be responsible for implementing Project Street Youth in South Carolina.
“The firm is proud of the work Beth is doing for the ABA YLD and the South Carolina Bar YLD,” said Alice Paylor, a senior partner in the firm and the immediate past-president of the South Carolina Bar. “Her leadership skills and commitment to public service will be a great asset to both organizations.”
Palmer focuses her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, employment law, personal injury, and education law.
