James A. “Chip” Bruorton IV, Esq. Named Co-Managing Member of Rosen Hagood, LLC
Charleston, SC. (March 20, 2024) – James A. “Chip” Bruorton IV, Esq. has been named co-managing member of Rosen Hagood, LLC. Mr. Bruorton assumes the role previously held by H. Brewton Hagood, Esq. Mr. Hagood will continue to practice in the areas of construction litigation, mediation and arbitration, commercial litigation, and probate and estate litigation.

While serving as co-managing member alongside Andrew Gowdown, Mr. Bruorton will maintain his practice in the areas of construction litigation, business and commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and administrative and government law. He represents clients across several industries including on the plaintiff and defense sides of construction matters, employers as well as current and former employees against the employer, individuals and families who have suffered a catastrophic injury, and serving as general counsel to local government bodies. In 2015 he obtained the largest verdict in firm history, which was also one of the top verdicts in South Carolina and one of the top 50 verdicts in the United States that year.
Mr. Bruorton graduated from Clemson University and the University of Tennessee School of Law. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of construction law and litigation, Super Lawyers, and holds a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent® rating. Alongside his practice of law, he is heavily involved in the local community coaching youth sports, assisting local non-profits, leading and participating in mission trips, teaching high-school Sunday School and is currently serving as Co-Chair on the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff search committee for Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
