Hunting v. Elders 359 SC 217, 597 S.E. 2nd 803 (Ct. App. 2004)

Counsel represented Plaintiff in personal injury action resulting from illegal sale of alcohol to intoxicated patron followed by devastating auto collision. The second trial resulted in personal liability for the individual owners of the bar which sold alcohol and the appeal involved questions of the requirements under SC law for piercing the corporate veil. The appellate court affirmed the lower court’s decision to pierce the corporate veil and impose liability on the owner based primarily on evidence siphoning.
