Rosen Hagood: Dedicated to Serving Our Community

Rosen Hagood August 2, 2022

In the continuing celebration of Rosen Hagood’s 75th anniversary, we take a look now at our firm’s proud legacy of public service. We believe that our mission isn’t limited to helping clients with their legal matters, but goes further to assisting our friends, neighbors, and the broader community. From the local Charleston area to the greater Lowcountry, Rosen Hagood is honored to serve others in civic and philanthropic endeavors.

Rosen Hagood supports a number of organizations, including the following:

  • Special Olympics South Carolina
  • Leadership South Carolina
  • Be A Mentor
  • South Carolina Bar Foundation
  • Brain Injury Association of South Carolina
  • American Lung Association
  • MUSC Children’s Health
  • Charleston Animal Society
  • Woodward Crohns and Colitis Foundation
  • Charleston Pro Bono
  • Trident Head Injury Support Group
  • Going Places
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Charleston Moves
  • Make-A-Wish Foundation
  • Charleston Legal Access
  • The Giving Tree
  • The Slade Dozier Foundation

We recognize that financial contributions are just one aspect of community service. That’s why Rosen Hagood has personally been involved with a number of projects impacting our community and its natural resources. They include:

Habitat for Humanity. The goal of this well-known national organization is to build and improve homes for families. Habitat for Humanity believes that affordable housing is the backbone of strong communities and helps individuals become self-sufficient by providing shelter. We are proud to have participated directly in a home construction project in Berkeley County for this esteemed organization.

Oyster reef build. Oysters are an essential part of South Carolina’s economy, ecology, and culture. But areas where oysters grow face constant threats to their environment, which is why efforts to sustain oyster reefs are so important. In partnership with South Carolina Oyster Recycling and Enhancement (SCORE), the firm recently completed an oyster reef build on James Island.

Meals for MUSC families. When a child is sick, the rest of the family may find itself spending a great deal of time at the hospital. It can be a stressful and lonely time. That’s why Rosen Hagood has provided meals to families with children who are being treated at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) hospitals for the past (insert number) years.

Leadership and pro bono legal service. Many of our attorneys have held leadership positions in some of the organizations listed above. They have also been actively involved with pro bono legal service, which provides legal representation to others at no cost. An example of this pro bono work is representation of indigent clients in court-appointed family court cases.

These are just a few of the ways we have strived to give back to a community that has been so supportive of our firm over the years. When clients retain Rosen Hagood, they are more to us than a business relationship. The people and organizations we represent have families, businesses, interests, and lives that go beyond the courtroom and law office. Our attorneys are involved with civic and non-profit organizations that reflect their values and lift up their neighbors. We share in these efforts and continue to build upon our firm’s long tradition of public service.

When we say we are a Charleston law firm, we mean it.

The attorneys and staff of Rosen Hagood not only work here, but live here as well. We look forward to continuing to play an integral role in the civic and public life of Charleston and the Lowcountry.
