Elizabeth F. Nicholson Named Fellow Of the Construction Lawyers Society Of America

Elizabeth F. Nicholson has been selected as a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America. Ms. Nicholson focuses her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, construction law and litigation, personal injury, real estate litigation, and employment law. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Historic Preservation and Community Planning, Ms. Nicholson received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Charleston School of Law. In her construction practice, she represents general contractors, subcontractors, and residential homeowners in construction defect claims, mechanic’s lien claims, and payment disputes. Ms. Nicholson also has experience in real estate contract disputes and personal injury matters.

The CLSA is an invitation-only international honorary association composed of preeminent lawyers specializing in construction law and related fields. Fellowship is limited and selective, with lawyers being invited into Fellowship upon a proven record of excellence and accomplishment in construction law at both the trial and appellate levels. Lawyers nominated or selected may be in any discipline in the construction law arena, including contract specialization, negotiations, litigation, arbitration, appellate and/or surety law, but who have in addition superior ethical reputations. The CLSA seeks a high level of diversity in its selection process. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level, or are independent practitioners with recognized advanced status among their peers. The CLSA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy and ethical standards in construction law and fostering a scholarly and advanced exchange of ideas in all practices related to the specialty.

Ms. Nicholson has been selected to the South Carolina Rising Stars list from 2020-2025 and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® from 2023-2026. She is active in her community, serving on the board of Going Places and as an advisory board member of Yo Art, both nonprofits providing opportunities to disadvantaged children in the Charleston area school systems.
