Eight Rosen Hagood Attorneys Recognized by South Carolina Super Lawyers

Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that Super Lawyers® magazine has selected three of the firm’s attorneys for the 2013 South Carolina Super Lawyers list and five attorneys as Rising Stars. No more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers and no more than 2.5% are Rising Stars. This is only the second year that Rising Stars have been selected in South Carolina.

Super Lawyers

Richard Rosen’s practice focuses primarily on business litigation and personal injury cases. This is Richard Rosen’s sixth consecutive year on the South Carolina Super Lawyers list. He is the Vice-Chair of the Primerus Consumer Law Institute and holds the highest professional rating (“AV”) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Alice Paylor earned her fifth consecutive designation to the South Carolina Super Lawyers list for her work in business litigation. She also practices in employment and labor law and school and education law. She is the President of the South Carolina Bar.

Brew Hagood, who heads the construction practice group at Rosen Hagood, was selected for construction litigation. He holds the highest professional rating (“AV”) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and this is his sixth consecutive year on the Super Lawyers list.

Rising Stars

Andrew Gowdown practices in the areas of personal injury, traumatic brain injury, business and commercial litigation, and securities litigation. This is the second year that he was selected as a Rising Star. Gowdown is on the Board of Directors for Charleston Volunteers for Literacy and volunteers as a Book Buddy at Sanders-Clyde Elementary School in Charleston.  He holds the highest professional rating (“AV”) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

James Atkinson “Chip” Bruorton, IV focuses his practice in the areas of construction litigation, commercial business litigation, condemnation, and surety law. This is his second year on the Rising Stars list. He is a member of the Supplier Advisory Council of the Carolinas Association of General Contractors.

R. Britt Kelly’s practice focuses primarily on construction matters and personal injury cases. He is the 9th Circuit Representative of the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar, a member of the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court, and this is his second year on the Rising Stars list.

Beth Palmer practices primarily in the areas of business and commercial litigation, employment law, personal injury, and education law. She serves as the Co-Coordinator of the Public Service Team for the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.

John E. Rosen has extensive experience with a variety of transactions involving public finance, corporate law, and commercial real estate. His practice includes advising corporate clients on business formation, governance, contract negotiations, securities matters, and a variety of transactional and general corporate issues. He holds the highest professional rating (“AV”) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
