Alice F. Paylor Becomes President of the South Carolina Bar
Alice F. Paylor, an attorney with Rosen Hagood, was installed as the 2013-14 president of the South Carolina Bar (SC Bar) on Thursday, May 16, during the Bar’s House of Delegates meeting at the Sand Dunes Club on Sullivan’s Island. South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean H. Toal administered the oath of office, and Paylor addressed the House on initiatives for the coming year.
Paylor is a shareholder at the firm, practicing in the areas of complex business and commercial litigation, employment litigation and school and education law. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977 and joined Rosen Hagood in 1982. Paylor has served on the SC Bar’s Board of Governors since 2005, including the positions of secretary and treasurer, prior to becoming president-elect last year. In the past she has also been on the Conventions Committee and Judicial Qualifications Committee, secretary/treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division, and member and chair of the House of Delegates. She is a permanent member of the 4th Circuit Judicial Conference, is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell ®, and has been recognized by both Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers®.
