Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that James A. “Chip” Bruorton, IV has successfully completed Leadership South Carolina and is a graduate of the Class of 2012. As one of the oldest and most respected of the statewide leadership programs, Leadership South Carolina provides gifted and highly motivated South Carolinians an opportunity to advance their leadership qualities while broadening their understanding of issues facing the state.

Mr. Bruorton’s practice primarily focuses in construction litigation, condemnation, and surety law. Mr. Bruorton represents private and public owners, architects, contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and bonding companies. He also has experience in personal injury and commercial business litigation matters. Mr. Bruorton received his Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management from Clemson University in 2000 and earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2003. He first joined the firm as an associate in August 2003 and has been a member of the firm since January 2008.

Each year, approximately 55 individuals are selected on their abilities as a leader and on their personal past record of service in a leadership capacity. The program seeks to maintain a balance reflective of the demographic composition of the state. Opportunities for personal growth include assessments of learning and leadership styles and how these styles interact with those of others. Class sessions include presentations, panels, experiential learning, and a great deal of interaction between class members and presenters.
