Rosen Hagood Attorney Participates in Medical-Legal Symposium
On Thursday, September 25, the Charleston County Medical Society and the Charleston County Bar Association presented a medical-legal symposium, “Fostering Better Relationships Between Doctors and Lawyers: Practical Case Panels.”
The symposium drew a record crowd of physicians and lawyers, both seeking to improve working relationships between the two professions. The program, which was approved for continuing education credit for both physicians and lawyers, featured a keynote presentation and three panel discussions. Each panel included a balance of physicians and lawyers providing their insight and perspective on various medical-legal topics.
“We were pleased at the amount of interest the symposium generated,” said Andrew Gowdown, a partner with the law firm of Rosen Hagood. “The programming for the event was comprehensive and addressed areas of concern for both professions.”
Gowdown currently serves as the Chair of the Charleston County Bar Association Medical-Legal Committee that worked to organize the symposium. He also served as moderator of a panel discussing, “Doctors’ and Lawyers’ Medico-Legal Responsibilities.”
In his legal practice, Gowdown concentrates his work on representing clients in catastrophic personal injury, traumatic brain injury, and products liability cases. Gowdown also represents clients in business and securities litigation matters.
