Luke M. Gentlesk

Luke is an associate whose practice focuses on construction law and litigation, business and commercial litigation, and personal injury matters. Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, he has called South Carolina home since law school and maintains strong ties throughout the Carolinas.

Before joining Rosen Hagood, Luke served for nearly two years as an Assistant Public Defender in the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office. In that role, he handled a substantial caseload involving serious criminal matters, made hundreds of court appearances, and negotiated and resolved numerous high-stakes cases on behalf of his clients.

Luke brings that courtroom and litigation experience to his civil practice at Rosen Hagood. His approach emphasizes practical problem-solving, direct communication, and identifying the issues most likely to drive an efficient and favorable resolution.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2020, Luke attended the Charleston School of Law, where he was named to the Dean’s List and earned his J.D. in 2023 after graduating in two and a half years. While in law school, Luke worked as a law clerk with civil litigation firms, gaining experience with a variety of practices and developing an early foundation in civil litigation.

Outside of his law practice, Luke enjoys sports, boating, fitness, and spending time with family and friends.
