Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Nicholson has joined the firm as an associate attorney.  Nicholson practices in the areas of employment law, construction law and litigation, business and commercial litigation, and probate, estate, and trust litigation.

“We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth to our firm,” said managing partner, Richard Rosen. “She brings with her a new perspective and dedication to her work that will be a valuable asset to our clients and our team.”

Prior to joining Rosen Hagood, Nicholson served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable R. Lawton McIntosh, South Carolina Tenth Judicial Circuit. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston (2010) with a bachelor of arts degree in Historic Preservation and Community Planning, and a cum laude graduate of the Charleston School of Law (2015). While in law school, Nicholson served as Treasurer of the Public Interest Legal Society and also worked as a law clerk with Rosen Hagood during the summers of 2013 and 2014.

Andrew Gowdown, a partner with Rosen Hagood, was recently named the 2016-2017 Chair of the Primerus Personal Injury Institute (PPII) at the 2016 Primerus Global Conference.

Primerus is an international network of top-rated, independent, boutique law firms, of which Rosen Hagood is a member. An institute within Primerus, the PPII is a group of 30 plus trial lawyer member firms that represent plaintiffs and consumers nationwide in personal injury and other civil litigation related matters.

“It is a great privilege to serve as chair of the PPII,” Gowdown said. “I look forward to leading our group as we continue to grow our institute and continue to provide high quality legal representation to our clients across the country.”

As the chair of the PPII, Gowdown also serves on its Executive Committee. Before becoming a member of the Executive Committee, he served as the Chair of the Primerus Young Lawyers Section, of which he was a founding member. Gowdown focuses his legal practice on representing clients in catastrophic personal injury, traumatic brain injury, and products liability cases.

Liam Duffy, an associate with Rosen Hagood, was recently named one of the Stars of the Quarter for the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD).

Duffy was recognized for his involvement as co-chair of the Courthouse Keys Committee, a group that provides opportunities for young lawyers to connect and develop relationships with South Carolina’s many state and federal judges.  As co-chair of that committee, Duffy has worked with other members of the YLD to organize various events including happy hours, skeet shoots, and Q&A sessions with South Carolina judges throughout the state.
