Rosen Hagood Attorney, Elizabeth Palmer, Named Young Lawyer of the Year

Rosen Hagood May 19, 2015

Rosen Hagood is pleased to announce that Elizabeth “Beth” Palmer is one of two lawyers that has been named Young Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar. The annual award recognizes young lawyers who exemplify excellence in the practice of law and public service. Palmer was presented with the award at the annual retreat of the Young Lawyers Division on April 25.

An active member of the SC Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD), Palmer has served on the Voices Against Violence Committee, Community Law Week Committee, and the YLD’s Bar Convention Committee, which she chaired from 2011-2014, significantly increasing the number of young lawyers in attendance at the Bar’s Annual Convention. She is also a graduate of the SC Bar Leadership Academy.

As a member of the American Bar Association’s YLD (ABA YLD), Palmer was one of two coordinators responsible for the development and implementation of the 2013-2014 national public service initiative, “Bullyproof,” which educates children, parents, and educators about bullying. In 2014, Palmer was named an ABA YLD Star of the Year in recognition of her work with Bullyproof and was appointed as the Public Service Director for the 2014-15 bar year. In that role, she is currently heading up “Project Street Youth,” a nationwide initiative which, in part, provides legal services to homeless and transitional youth. She also currently chairs the SC Bar YLD’s Public Service Committee, a committee that was created this year in order to bring Project Street Youth, and other public service initiatives, to South Carolina.

Palmer focuses her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, employment law, personal injury, and education law.
