Beth Palmer of Rosen Hagood Awarded “Star of the Quarter” by the American Bar Association YLD
The American Bar Association’s (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) awarded Beth Palmer of Rosen Hagood “Star of the Quarter” for the first quarter of the 2012-2013 bar year. The award recognizes Palmer’s contributions, support, and dedication to the YLD, including her involvement with the Division’s recent Fall Conference in Charleston. She was also recognized for implementing the ABA’s public service project on voting rights, “American Voter,” at West Ashley High School, which encourages students to vote and educates students about the efforts made by generations of Americans that guaranteed the right to vote.
Palmer practices primarily in the areas of business & commercial litigation, employment law, personal injury, and education law. A native of Hilton Head Island, SC, Palmer joined Rosen Hagood in 2005 after clerking for the firm in 2004. She received a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in political science and received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Palmer was admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina in 2005 and has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She is active in both the South Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
The ABA YLD is home to 130,000 young lawyers and 300 young bar organizations. The ABA YLD gives Star of the Quarter Awards to emerging leaders of the legal profession who have had a meaningful impact on the ABA YLD’s work in public service, member and professional service, diversity, and advocacy on behalf of the profession. Stars of the Quarter are normally given to those “in the trenches” whose level of professionalism and service deserve special recognition.
